Whether you want to become a firefighters, assist with rescue operations or support fundraising and community outreach, there's a place for you here.​ We are a 100% volunteer organization and are committed to protecting our communities. 

Who Can Join?

Anyone! Well just about anyone. Any individual who is committed to serving their community is welcome to join the team here at DVFC. We are all individuals who share a common goal of serving the community we live in.

Opportunities:
🔥 Firefighters – The backbone of the fire service. Broken down into three categories, firefighters respond to fires, medical
     emergencies, and rescues. No experience? No problem! We provide all necessary training and gear.
🔧 Support Members – Help with fundraising, public education, fire prevention programs, and station maintenance.
🧑‍🎓 Junior Firefighters (Ages 14-17) – Gain hands-on experience and training while preparing for full membership.

Requirements of Membership

We welcome individuals who are committed to serving their community with integrity, responsibility, and teamwork. Please review the following requirements before applying:

General Requirements:

  • Must live within the Dublin Volunteer Fire Company (DVFC) primary coverage area.
    If you’re unsure whether your address qualifies, please email chief@dublinfireco.org for confirmation.

  • Applicants outside of our coverage area will be directed to the fire department that serves their location.

  • Must be willing to submit to a background check; an internal Investigation Committee will review your application and background results.

  • Must attend at least half of all monthly meetings (held the first Thursday of each month) and half of all scheduled drills (held on the remaining Thursdays).

  • All new members will serve a one-year probationary period following acceptance.

  • All required training is fully paid for by DVFC, and all necessary gear and tools are provided.

Firefighter 1:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must complete the following certifications within 1 year of becoming an active member:

    • Firefighter I

    • Hazmat Awareness

    • Hazmat Operations

Junior Firefighter:

  • Must be at least 16 years old

  • May participate in training and support roles but will not operate in hazardous environments

Fire Police:

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license

  • Must complete the Basic Fire Police certification within 1 year of active membership
